Becoming a property entrepreneur, becoming any sort of entrepreneur, is not some great achievement due to brilliance, hard work or persistence.

Far from it…it is something simple and easy to do. Treat anyone trying to tell you differently as having some sort of improper agenda or not being too bright, or both.

It is a simple mindset decision – yes or no.

First things first…I make no apology for the blunt, forthright and sometimes unkind tone of this blog.

My experience is that many people only listen when you make yourself loud and clear – say it as it is – without any concession to convention, feelings or niceties.

This is one of my opinion blogs and I take the view that worthwhile opinions are never innocuous, mundane or civil.

Further, anyone not hearing or responding to an unambiguous blunt opinion is probably doomed to go around in their own diminishing circles forever.

So what has got me so mildly agitated? …

Some of my property musketeers …or more correctly, those people that have told me that they want to be musketeers but are lurking in the shadows in perfect silence.

They have told me they want to start off on an exciting property journey to achieve their property goals by embarking on property strategies with the benefit of education, training, coaching and collaboration….

But so far they have done nothing, rein, niente, nada, nichts, nada, kitu.

Excuses excuses excuses

What I have heard from one too many is that they can’t start on the property journey to the achievement, success and wealth they crave because…

They don’t have the money!

I have asked most of them how much they need to get started and, guess what, they didn’t have a clue.

That of course gave the game away. It wasn’t money holding them back…if it was that, they would know the amount.

What they didn’t have are things like:

  • Genuine hunger for success
  • Sufficient interest
  • Motivation
  • Confidence
  • Positive can-do mindset.

What they all had in abundance was that loathsome thing “fear”.

And to think I gave one of them my copy of Susan Jeffer’s “FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY”.

Pitiful procrastination

The other thing I have had more than I can take is procrastination. The excuse goes something like this:

“I 100% want to get started, but I need to do other things first”.

What other things? Find a perfect excuse for doing nothing, no doubt.

“We are so scared of being judged that we look for every excuse to procrastinate”:   Erica Jong, novelist, satirist and poet.

The reality is that procrastination kills energy, motivation and desire.

People who put off something rarely have the guts to start it.

The time which passes as they sit on their hands is time they use to justify their fear of failure.

Time to shape up

Disheartened by this culture of fear, but more lately anger, I have been doing some serious head scratching as to what I can do to slap as many musketeer designates as possible out of their chronic inertia.

Talking to wise heads around me, many of them said I was wasting my time trying to raise what one person called “the entrepreneurially dead”.

Someone said:

“People want stuff, not just stuff but the best stuff…and they cry like babies if they don’t get what they want…but will they put in the effort necessary for success? Hell no!”

I got it. This is a world in which too many people want good things but deep down expect others to provide it for them, at their expense. Entitlement…that is a delusion not only of people who can’t accept inevitable socio-economic changes.

Still, as the Scorpio I am, I cannot walk away and wash my hands…at least not just yet.

So I have come up with a challenge – a way, hopefully, for all my excuse ridden, fearful musketeer designates to snap out of their chronic inertia and get started on their amazing property journey.

Instant property entrepreneur

If you want to go on a property journey, and have been mired in fear and inertia, or are simply over-cautious or affected by analysis paralysis, here is my cure:

Decide NOW, at this moment,TODAY, whether you want to be a property entrepreneur or not. Take a few moments to collect your thoughts and be honest with yourself.

It’s as simple as that – STEP ONE.

If the answer is “YES” you’re instantly a property entrepreneur.

If the answer is “NO”, send me an email TODAY to give me the bad news; don’t waste any more of my time or yours.

Good luck in finding something that you want to do.

By the way, if you can’t make up your mind, and you have been a musketeer designate for more than a month, your answer is “NO”.

STEP TWO is about the things you need to do once you have made the big decision.

In a nutshell, here is your essential action list:

  • Create your property power team
  • Talk to your property power team
  • Reach an arrangement with at least one member of your power team

Property power team

Every property entrepreneur or investor needs a power team. These are the property people who will provide you with all the money, time, knowledge and assistance you will need to become successful.

The key people of your power team should be:

  • Property Mentor
  • Property Adviser
  • Solicitor/Legal Adviser
  • Conveyancer
  • Mortgage Broker
  • Estate Agent
  • Letting/Managing Agent
  • Architect
  • Builder
  • Contractor
  • Accountant
  • Tax Adviser
  • Property Manager
  • Property Finder.

If you have your complete team already, great. If not, put your team together fast.

Talk to your property power team

Talk to your power team about how they can help you to earn your first £6,000 from property within the next 6 months, £1,000 per month.

What you want as a new, fully committed property entrepreneur is income or earnings as undeniable proof that it’s all for real and you are on the move.

Talk to your team about paying you a commission for any work, business, property or opportunity you refer to them.

Talk quid pro quo.

Here in more comprehensive format are some of the things you may be able to pass to your power team in return for a commission:

  • Clients
  • Work
  • Leads
  • Referrals
  • Business
  • Opportunities
  • Properties
  • Contacts
  • Deals
  • Arrangements
  • Contracts
  • Workers
  • Contractors
  • Joint Venturers
  • Partners.

When you look at the number of people in your power team and the number of things that you can refer to each individual, you can see that there are a huge number of opportunities for you to earn commissions.

Needless to say, you should not be scared or reticent to discuss commission arrangements with your power team.

There may be professional or practical reasons why some team members may not be able to enter into arrangements with you. Whatever the position, the worse that can happen is that they say no to you.

Reach deals with your power team

Aim to reach a commission arrangement with every single member of your power team.

However your minimum target within the next 7 days should be to reach a commission deal with at least one member of your power team.

Once you have a good number of commission agreements in place, you should have an excellent chance of earning £1,000 per month – £6,000 in six months.

If you don’t make £1,000 at the end of your first month, talk to any member of your power team you think will be able to help you.

Treat this blog as a practical toolkit for kick-starting your journey as a property entrepreneur. If you have already started your journey, use this blog as extra fuel for your entrepreneurial fire – to keep it burning brighter and longer.
